Dr Maria Grigoratou is Executive Secretary of the European Polar Board and Head of the European Polar Coordination Office (EPCO). A biological oceanographer with a PhD in Marine Ecology and Ecosystem Modelling from the University of Bristol, her work combines ecosystem science, modelling, international coordination and science diplomacy. Maria has extensive experience leading international research initiatives and fostering collaboration across scientific, policy and stakeholder communities, including roles at Mercator Ocean International and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. As a member of the TerraDT User Advisory Group, she brings valuable expertise in Earth system modelling, environmental monitoring, polar and cryosphere research, and the translation of scientific knowledge into actionable insights for decision-makers and society.
