ICOS Science Conference
Dates
15 September 2026 09:00 – 17 September 2026 18:00
Location
Lund, Sweden

ICOS mission is to produce standardised, high-precision and long-term observations and facilitate research to understand the carbon cycle and to provide necessary information on greenhouse gases. We promote technological developments and demonstrations related to greenhouse gases by linking research, education and innovation. With our high-precision data, we aim to support policy- and decision-making to combat climate change and its impacts.

This year, the biennial ICOS Science Conference 2026 is taking place in Lund, Sweden, on 15-17 September 2026.

TerraDT at the Conference

TerraDT has presented an abstract for Theme 11 of ICOS Science Conference 2026, "Climate feedbacks from ecosystem management and natural disturbances": this study bridges the resolution gap between coarse global climate models (which use ~25 km Land Surface Models) and fine-scale forest growth models (which operate at tens of meters) by applying multistage, extreme super-resolution downscaling to Leaf Area Index data over Northern European boreal forests.
