Samuel Morin is Deputy-head of the Research and Higher Education Department at Météo-France. He was previously research scientist at Météo-France and Head of the CNRM, the joint Météo-France and CNRS research laboratory specialising in atmosphere and climate science. His research focuses on snow processes, mountain meteorology, cryosphere modelling and climate change impacts in alpine environments. Morin has contributed extensively to improving the representation of snow and land-surface interactions in Earth system models, including operational forecasting applications. His expertise strongly supports TerraDT’s cryosphere and land-surface developments, particularly in enhancing the realism and usability of simulations for adaptation and environmental risk management. His work is directly aligned with TerraDT’s goal of improving underrepresented Earth system components within DestinE.
